As the urban center of Southwest Ohio, Hamilton County is rich in early childhood resources. There are more than 210 full day year round child care centers and 165 part-time preschool programs that operate on a school year calendar. Several advocacy and planning organizations work to improve the care and education of young children and to connect families with services and programs they need to ensure their children are ready for kindergarten. Local leaders working to provide a seamless system of quality care and education for young children include Success By 6, United Way of Greater Cincinnati, Every Child Succeeds, 4C for Children, the Hamilton County Educational Service Center, Community Action Agency of Cincinnati and Hamilton County, Cincinnati Public Schools, The Greater Cincinnati Foundation, and Strive to name just a few.

There are links to local and national web sites to help parents understand the importance of the early years and how to promote their child’s development. And, there is information to help parents and others get involved in advocacy activities in Ohio.
