In My Community

Partnerships

Working together to address early childhood issues is the foundation of the Success By 6 model.  In Clermont County, the Success By 6 Action Committee works with the Early Childhood Coordinating Council, the Family and Children First Council and many direct service organizations to plan school readiness strategies.  In 2008, the committee developed two action plans – an awareness action plan and a school readiness plan.  These plans will be the basis for our work throughout 2009 and 2010.

Improving Service

The purpose of the Awareness Action Plan is to coordinate and improve parent, caregiver and community resources so that every family understands the importance of quality early learning experiences.  It is also intended to create community awareness about quality early childhood education options.  As a result of the plan, this web site was improved and promoted, the committee distributed Born Learning Your Child @ materials, developed a brochure that lists school readiness resources, and collaborated with the Clermont County Public Library to enhance the Ready to Read Grant.

If you would like more information about the plan or multiple copies of the brochure, please contact the Clermont County Success By 6.

The School Readiness Plan is a partnership with several school districts to improve literacy readiness of kindergartners by providing learning experiences from birth to age 6. The plan links school readiness to Ohio’s Kindergarten Readiness Assessment – Literacy (KRA-L) and strives to improve scores over a two-year period. Initially, the work will focus on two school districts and expand to a total of four by the end of 2009.  The key features of the plan are to improve the quality of early childhood care and education, expand home visitation services, and monitor child progress using standard assessments.
